Wizard

Whenever you create a new team and go to the team’s dashboard, you are greeted with a “Create your first chatbot” wizard. This wizard has three steps that guide you through creating a chatbot, adding knowledge, and testing your bot.

  1. Create bot: This screen is basically the same as the normal CreateBot screen.

Here you can enter

  • the bot name (which is then readable on your dashboard and all the other screens),
  • a handle (a part of the URL and basically the technical name of the bot),
  • decide whether the bot is public or not,

and all the other settings for a bot. Everything is basically the same as in the normal bot creation dialog.

  1. Add knowledge to the bot

The screen is the same as the normal add knowledge screen. The difference is that on saving, the knowledge is automatically added to the bot you have created in the first step.

  1. Test your bot

Here you can Directly test the bot. This screen is the same as The My Chats screen is selected with a certain bot. As it is the first bot, it is also the default bot, and the chat is directly usable. When you later have multiple bots in your team and want to chat with a certain bot, you go to the Bot screen and select Chat beside the bot you want to chat with.

Now let’s walk through a complete example. In this, you will create a new team, add a bot with custom knowledge and test the bot.

Start by creating a team. Please choose a name on your own. I will just choose “Wizard Tutorial” as a team name.

Now open the theme dashboard and start by creating a bot. Use “Wizard Tutorial” as the name and “wizard-tutorial” as the handle. Don’t mark the bot as public, and leave all the remaining settings unchanged. Hit “Create Bot” to go to the knowledge management step.

Choose “Upload Documents”…
